Resources, Energy & Environment

Responsible development of natural resources (including groundwater, minerals and hydrocarbons) is a crucial societal issue that relies on the acquisition, processing, analysis and integration of highly diverse geoscience data, as well as on their critical review and use by many stakeholders. To be successful, geosciences must converge within multidisciplinary research frameworks to improve global knowledge on sustainable natural resources development and best practices to protect the environment. This theme aims to bring together sessions focussing on topics such as mapping and characterization of geological and hydrogeological systems, understanding resource formation from source to surface and fluid circulation, as well as environmental characterization.
